Turning in Homework
  Drag-and-Drop Can Result in 0 Kilobyte Error File

Safest Turn-In Procedures
  • Start->Files
  • Children find their G drive work and click once to select file
  • Edit -> Copy
  • Children find your folder inside the Homework drive and click once in the right-hand empty area
  • Edit -> Paste
Naming Conventions for Children
Instead of annonymous variants of "brochure.pub" children can use:

john_smith.pub

This method quickly informs the teacher who has already turned in their project and who has turned it in incorrectly (0 kilobytes files).

Children Cannot Make SubFolders
To avoid confusion and accidental overwriting students must be reminded to delete old files after they are safely turned in.

Children's Rights on Assignment and Homework Drives
  • Assignments drive: Students can open, see and copy any file. They cannot write, delete, or rename.
  • Homework drive: Students cannot open, copy, delete or rename any file. They can write (turn in).
Since children cannot change anything after turning it in they should submit a second version if revisions are needed:

john_smith2.pub
