Classroom Computers
  Old VS. New Classroom Computers
The classrooms with new computers are:
  • Richmond
  • Weaver
All other classrooms contain old computers with many limitations.

Old Classroom Computers and Their Limitations
  • They will likely be much slower.
  • Most will not have AR installed.
  • None of the Math programs are installed on any of the old computers.
  • Many do not have all the Office programs: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
  • Their versions of Office programs will NOT be able to open ANY work done on newer computers.
  • Children will NOT be able to create a project on a new computer and then open it on an old classroom computer.
  • Old classroom computers can NOT be updated to include AR, Math programs or newer versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
What Can Be Done on Old Classroom Computers
These computers all have working internet and network access. The children can gather research data (text and pictures from the internet) and save them to their G drive. The child can complete any writing needed for a project and save it in Word on their G drive.

When the children have time on the new computers they can simply cut and paste all their previously completed writing and research into the new versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Publisher.
