Performance Assessments

Chapter 11/13 Test: Students must pass at a “C” or better. We combine sections from both Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 for this unit. Topics include basic vocabulary for Geometry, properties of triangles, square roots and finally the Pythagorean Theorem.

Tip: This is an introductory unit in graphing linear equations. This unit will be repeated and expanded in Algebra I. Some of the concepts about triangles in this Geometry unit are review from sixth grade math. However, this will be the first time square root and the Pythagorean Theorem are introduced.

Examples:

The angles in a triangle always add to what?

The square root of 81 is 9.

Chapter 8 Test: Students must pass at a “C” or better. The theme for this unit is graphing linear equations. Topics include domain and range or relations, finding the slope of a line, solving function equations, graphing equations, graphing system of equations and graphing inequalities.
